Radio Control Modeling Resources

Following are a few links to online resources that I have found to be particularly useful to me as I explore the hobby. This is by no means a complete list, I am just starting to put it together.

The Academy of Model Aeronautics

The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), is a national modeling organization that offers many services to its members. One of the most important is liability coverage for the operation of aircraft, boats, cars and rockets. This coverage is also available to registered clubs and site owners. As a result, most clubs will require their members to also be members of the AMA. In addition to these services the AMA sanctions numerous events, publishes a monthly magazine, promotes the hobby and much more.

League of Silent Flight

The League of Silent Flight (LSF) is an organization of radio controlled sailplane enthusiasts dedicated to the promotion of soaring within the hobby.

RCGroups.com

RC Groups is a web resource for all radio control modelers. It offers individual blogs, private messaging between registered users, space for clubs to host web sites, an active for-sale/wanted area and a huge forum for people to discuss numerous areas of the hobby. There is a ton of useful information on it. Like most anything on the Internet, you shouldn't believe everything you read, but most of the information you will find is quite good.

I live in the twin cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. In addition to be a member of the AMA, I am also a member of the following two local organizations:
