May 12, 2011Things have been very quiet around here. I haven't done much flying this year and even less building. Most of the Winter was spent learning to ski and snowkite. What an exciting time that was! I can hardly wait for winter to return so I can start those activities again. Until then I will venture into kiteboarding and return to radio control. As I look back at the projects and distractions I was going to spend time on over the winter, I see that I only bothered with a couple of them. I repaired the EPP Yak 54. That probably cost me almost an hour of my time. I also finished building the 3DHS Extra 330 a couple of weeks ago and took it out and got two flights in as the sun set. It flew very nice. I also spent some time with the helicopter simulators but not as much as I thought I would. Not on the list was another sailplane, but I also picked up a Radian Pro. I am thinking I will fly it in more wind than the original Radian and also have more fun with it on the slope. I have recently become interested in getting a Multiplex Fun Cub. Not long ago I saw one fly and I have been thinking I could really have a lot of fun with one. A Fun Cub will probably be a summer project along with finally finishing the Hush-E. Everything else will be flying whatever I am in the mood to put in the air. Next week I will spend parts of five days slope soaring in South Dakota. That should be a good time and a very welcome escape from the office. My next update will follow the trip. Hopefully I will have some nice photos and videos to share. |
