Tiger 2When I returned to radio control after my first break from the hobby I was looking for something to fly besides my DuraPlane. I was also looking for something that would perform better than that or my original trainer. At the time the Goldberg Tiger 2 was often thought of as a great low-wing trainer or second model. When I found a completed airframe for sale at a local hobby store that only needed an engine and electronics I bought it. It was a quick way for me to jump back in and get into the air quickly. I also bought a new Futaba SkySport 6A and joined the Sodbusters R/C Flying Club. This model turned out to be a pretty nice flyer. I wasn't the greatest pilot and I still found it easy to fly. It was a good model for me. I only had a couple of gripes about it. One was that it seemed the landing gear mount in the wings was pretty fragile. It really needed to be beefed up. The other thing I didn't care for were those silly looking clown heads the builder placed in the cokpit. Ugggh! Eventually I must have decided I didn't want the Tiger 2 any longer. I think big part of that came from the fact that I didn't build it. I never really got too attached to it. I believe that I traded it in with my DuraPlane for store credit at Hobby Warehouse in Richfield, MN. I think I used the credit to buy a Great Planes CAP 21 kit. My Configuration
