MX-2

I built the MX-2 for the 2010 indoor fying season. By the time I actually got around to flying the model it was outdoors on April 11. I was a little nervous on the maiden flight but only for a few moments. As the model took to the air and started climbing out it needed no more than one-click of trim to the ailerons. The model flew very slow and was tracked very well in calm air. I was quite impressed.

Over the 2010 Summer I flew the model outdoors on several more occasions and really like the way it handled. In December I brought it to my first flying session in the HHH Metrodome and after getting it trimmed for level flight I lost radio control and crashed into the turf. The crash did a fair amount of damage but it looks like it can be repaied without too much trouble. It should fly again next Spring.

My Configuration

Receiver : Spektrum AR6110e
Servos (4) : Futaba S3114
Speed control : Castle Phoenix 10
Motor : Hacker A10-9L
Propellor : GWS 8x4.3
Battery : Thunder Power 2S 350 JST
Rhino 2S 360 JST

The checkers on the bottom of the wing were done with Sharpie markers. They worked quite well. I am using them on an unprinted MX-2 kit I started building.
